House-groups
House-groups date back to the very earliest Christian times, and have experienced
a renewal of interest in recent years. At Preston (as in many churches) they now
form an integral and vital part of church life.
House-groups are made up of between eight and twelve people who meet either weekly
or fortnightly in the homes of those who have
volunteered. We read the Bible and discuss its application to modern life, pray
for any needs we may have as well as for those in the wider world. From time to time
have a variety of social events such as Barbeques, Cream Teas, Chinese meals, Sunday
lunches and Christmas Celebrations.
We generally try to care for and encourage one another in the Christian faith. Meetings
are relaxed, informal and friendly, with no special skills or experience required.
Just come along and be yourself, find a place to belong and make some new friends.
Tea and coffee are always on the menu!
